I have photographed a few birds in my time (most of them human) Danny and these ones used to visit us when we put out a favourite expensive feed for them. Can't afford to have them guzzle sunflower hearts anymore so they go elsewhere :) They don't seem to like the less expensive mixture that the various tits and sparrows enjoy. All the best my friend.

I may have had one of my many senior moments. I have just Googled the name and I believe yu are correct in calling it a Gold finch. A gold crest is an entirely different bird. I'm afraid that I am not really into Bird photography.

Another beautiful avian portrait Danny with excellent details and lovely rich tones. The composure is perfect and the balance is superb. I see that you call these little ones 'goldcrests', down South we call them gold finches. I wonder how this difference came about :) Best wishes my friend.
