About I posted this image last week but I was just experimenting with it in PS. By layering itself over one another and changing the layers properties I changed the lighting effect some. Don't know which one I like better.

i think this is the better of the two. in this one, the highlight detail fades to white right at the border, giving a feeling of completeness. i'm reminded of minor white's dictum to focus on 'what else' something is, rather than on capturing the obvious. this picture fulfills that dictum very well. the flowerness of it is present but only as a point of depature. from there it becomes a study in texture and gently suggested forms. or maybe it becomes an apotheosis of flowerness. anyway, it is only what it is just enough for the viewer to be free to take off and find their own way in the picture. that delicate pink is mesmerizing, too. and the erotic content, as well. 'course, that would have gone without saying, but i just wanted to mention it ;) this really is a gorgeous picture; blows away most of what counts as flower art.

so you used to be an art director? i'm a writer/producer. glad to see a fellow creative busting out of the biz.

Thanks for your comment.
Have a look at michelle K's works please, we sometimes collaborate in what we call "KA-LO project", but she makes her best works without me !
I take some inspiration from grunge mags like Ray Gun, Huh or Bikini (see the book "RAY GUN - out of control" Booth Clibborn Editions, 12 Percy Street, London W1P9FB)...
I still have my "highway shoes"... can walk further !

Con questa foto, la rosa assurge a rango di "nuvola".

I didn't see the other one....I'll go to your portfolio. This one is a dream. Good work with the manipulation.

It's amazing what you can do with the layer properties in PS. As far as this image is concerned, I like the top part of the original because there is more detail in the layers of the petals and colors are a little more vivid. I like the bottom part of this one because it has fresher color. Both are pretty.....love the delicacy of the picture. Could you stitch the two together?? Just a thought....

Nice high key shot, perhaps too much white though..
