Dear Paul,
I didn't have much luck with primary school people, they didn't fit me, although I know people who still meet with each other. My best friend is still the one I met in first class of high school btw ;) It's all possible, depends only how much people care ;)
I will stubbornly stay here still as I like the place :p
BTW, my cat is going into 13th year of her life and feels very fine, please do not tell her those statistics :>
As for recalling my fav subject ;) Maybe cats are not sentimental with their prey but look at those who fall into depression after losing their owner, I know such examples; they learnt to be sentimental from us!

Dear Ania. Do you still pass a lot of time with your friends at primary school when you had the age of 12 ? Apply the same rule for the time you will be 36 years old and you look back just 12 years. Find yourself teachers and teach others. If you keep on with "teaching" me I will keep on with "teasing" you :-)
You know very well the life of a cat is about 12 years and cats apparently are not too sentimental with birds and mice,
learn simply from them.

Dear ania, most of those who enter through here, we have the same feeling that you, the pain of seeing people I admire and do not share with us their pictures, people with whom we have enjoyed, learned and shared ours.
Maybe someday again, maybe not, but the important thing is that we are and we stay with that other great and good photographers also want to share with us your images.
Anyway I do not understand is that we are trying to maintain backward clients business, as administrators do nothing.
I hope this continue to be a wonderful meeting point as it has always been.

the problem is not the people, some good photographers are leaving another ones will dome; the problem are the editors thad don't give any support, meanwhile I'm thinking what to do :(

I totally agree with you Ania and so for Andre about how the site changed during couple of last years and people came and leaved. I began posting to UF in a middle time between both of you in 2006 :) and had the most experience intensively gained in taking pictures when there were much more people in the site whom I learned from them nearly everything and supported me. But this is life and nothing remains the same, I hope any change kind for something better.

Hi Andre,
I've been here since 2008, so not that long; and even being just a two years old member I also have to agree that earlier there were much more photos and generally people participating in the site... at least I feel so.
I've stopped posting to some sites because of being busy and so, I chose this one as at least one where I will stay. And I hope I'll keep on posting and growing my experience still... and also hope to see some old members coming back after a shorter or longer break :)
I also think the site needs more care from the editors, recently there were some technical problems, and also for me it seems like the site is a wild garden which needs some care and cleaning to show its flowers in full beauty... Just my opinion...
Still I've learnt much here and got to know many great people, which is important too...

Hi Ania,
I have been a member on this site since Dec. 2004. During that time, I have seen many talented and friendly people come and go. But, without a doubt, this is the lowest amount of traffic I have ever seen on this site. There used to be a time when there were up to 8 pages of new images posted every day.
People leave for many reasons. Some get bored with the site, some are busy, some loose intrest in photograpy. Some believe that they have progressed so much that they are now too good for the site.
As Jim Loy stated in another post, some people stay away for a while and then come back.
One thing important to remember, sites like this can do without old members. There will always be fresh new people that accidentally find the site and start posting. The site will go through phases. Old friends and associates will come and go.
Just keep shooting, creating and posting.
