About Have been looking at this jetty for about a year, not knowing how to capture it's character best.
One morning I decided to use flash in order to darken the background. The ice accumulated during strong winds the day before (and was gone two days later ;-)

Hi Rick, I agree with you that if taken at a wider angle, the vastness of the dark, frozen lake would have enforeced the atmosphere.

I like it b/w better...going wider I think maybe increase the scariness of it...to make it look longer...just my 2cents

Well done Rutger..
The scene lookes scary to me.. ice & icecold.
The choice of using flash makes it a complete different shot.
You could covert it to B&W..I give it a try..
