Thanks for joining the thread. I saw your images and they look very good, Andre. Besides the 105 have at present i am looking forward to extend my series of primes with eg 180 mm f/2.8 Nikkor or so.
Or the 70-200 mm VRII ;).

Thanks for the advice and now i am sure I will give the dealer the full typenr and serial of the goodies I have and let the, sort it out :)

Be well,
Harry

Hello Wolf and Eric,
I started reading the thread and dicussion on using the 1.4TC. I don't know if the latest AFS TC14EII is completely compatible with your 105 lens. But, if you are interested, I have quite a few shots of birds taken using that TC with my Nikkor AFS 300mm F4, mostly on the front page of my portfolio. When the light is good, I have no complaints with the results. I've even managed to take many decent shots hand held while in a kayak, when the light is good enough to keep the shutter speed up.

Nice shot of the Kingfisher Eric!

Thanks Eric and yes, I will provide the dealer with the specs of my lens and camera.
Another bonus is for my 105 mm macro that the minimum distance to the object is not affected by the 1.4 x !!!! and the insects I shot lately I used f/10 for a usable dof so it looks promising :)

THANKS !

Harry

Hi Harry,

I am using Nikon TC-14E II teleconverter for my 500mm f/4 Lens. It provides me 40% more of focal length and suits very much for my wildlife shooting. Aperture would be one stop smaller. The auto focus still works and doesn't feel the slow down of focus speed. I am satisfied with the picture quality so far. This extender attached to my Lens all the times now without taking out.

I am not sure whether it performs the same on 105mm VRII and but should be similar. I would suggest you to check with dealer see if auto focus would still work after extender installed.

Best regards,
Eric

Eric,

I am considering to buy that 1.4x converter Nikon brand and use it with eg my 105 mm VR-II lens and other lenses.

What are your experiences with the converter ? What brand ? Any flaws or streaks by the sun ?

Price here is abt 370 euro but i think its worth it.

Please let me know.

Harry
