Negative bits first: the background is a little boring; there is some halo around the poles, maybe too much USM ? I often run into the same problem.
Then the good things :) The colors are wonderful, the reflections very effective and the way in which the poles create a path to the sun is just great.

PS: I am lowering the appeal score because of the uninteresting background, the two 'towers' (?) just below the sun being particulary detractive in my opinion.
