Thanks for commenting on this, Srna. The technical quality is not too good after all this time, but seeing the picture again has brought back some nice memories. (The orangutan - at Singapore Zoo - was quite a celebrity. Unfortunately, this one is dead now, but on the positive side, she has done her duty in helping orangutans to survive.)

Hi, Ian. I agree: it does have that 'painted backdrop' look about it, but it's totally genuine.
Thanks for the comment.
Best, Len

Gosh it's aged well, the background could be a painted backdrop.

Yes, I guess nearly everyone who visits Singapore Zoo had a similar picture taken. Ah Meng was quite a character, though - beneath that calm exterior beat a very jealous heart. (The story is summarised on Wikipedia.)

The camera? Blimey, I really can't remember. I think it was an Olympus, but a fixed lens, pocket-thing, nothing very advanced.
Appreciate the kind comment, Stan.
Best, Len
PS I think the orangutan is Ah Meng, now deceased. You'll find a little history about her on Wikepedia. She was quite a gel!
