Thank you, Shirley! They do come through in flocks, but that is only a winter pattern, the birds being rather inconspicuous in the summer.

Thanks for your comment, Andre! I have had limited experience with the lens and am just learning. It has taken a few weeks to get used to the size and heft. I guess for the price, I had better like it! It was a matter of only affording one exotic, so I chose the one with the most versatility, since I am a fairly eclectic photographer. I made the right compromise as far as I'm concerned. Superb lens - this is the new VRII version!

Very nice Eb!
I love the colour of these birds. It sounds funny, but they remind me of a kind of multi coloured hard candy that we used to buy when we were kids. :)
How do you like that lens?
