my friend... is so simple,... maybe for me the problem is explained in good English, now I feel!!! to achieve a dark sky without (during the photo session) have used a filter can be done in different ways! ..the simplest of all is to use the "burn" with an opacity between 40% and 70% on the tones that you want to darken. in this case at the middle tones! hope all is clear... ciao take care... roby

That true. I was not think about it when I edited this one. Your right the result is more dramatic for a scene like that. I'm happy to see you've taken some time to explain your opinion and showed me your modifications. I'll try it at home, be sure of it. But, if you play with the black, you change all the picture in this way. And, here, with your modifications, the two trains and the trails are too dark for me. I'd like to know how turn the sky more black, without playing with the lasso...

well tom, hello.. nice to see.. a really nice picture that immediately I was impressed and suggested the performance with the most dramatic tone, as if it were the result of true photographic film. the film would have made more distinct tones but the result can be achieved with a minimum control levels. I thought that I would have taken using a digradent filter to compensate for the overexposure of heaven! the panorama idea is another great choice.. and ..that's it cheers roby
ps: after i send the levels control

Nicely balanced with the converging lines and a good bleak cold mood too. A touch of blue filter might enhance the cold feel. Regards, Gary

This one is another depth of field exercice. I though to put my camera just here cause, those trains make the depth of field by their various lenths.
