Yes, indeed, that's a difficult task (last year I took a shot of two black cats against the snow but this one is much better I think).

Nice cat and a good pose. This is a very difficult shot because of the range of light to dark. The bright snow caused the cat to lose it's features into darkness. Next time you might want to over-expose 1 or 2 f stops to lighten up the cat a little. The snow should still be good.

I like the black snow ball, but I think the fence makes him harder to see. The cat would be nice to see against the solid white of the snow. Just my thoughts since this in the CC category. The flat light seems to make the eyes a little dull on him. I bet those green eyes are very beautiful when he is in next to the heater.
