About This is a stack of 100 images with 50 seconds exposure. Thanks to CHDK I used an interval meter script.
Exposure time 50 seconds.
Aperture f3.5.
ISO 200.
Review, off (important)
Noise reduction, off (important)
I shoot in raw, because it makes doing the dark frame subtraction easier.
Software I used: UFRaw and Photoshop.

Thanks Randy for your comment; this picture was taken in conutryside faraway from civilitazion lights.
I used stacking because with digital camera, I guess, is the only method to take very long exposure; I don't think in the digital cameras are still the B pose.

I hacked the original Canon firmware using CHDK (google it): my shutter speeds vary from 1/65000 up to 65 sec, it's easy to use.
Cheers

Very nice and with no city lights or glow. I love the images showing the star colors. I know astronomy buffs use stacking, but I don't do digital photographs. What are the benefits of stacking? Contrast control, or more than that?

how did you set the shutter speed to 45s? I can only set my G9 shutter to stay open for 15 secs max...

This is one of the nicest captures using this effect I've seen. Adding the house with the light on was a great idea. Well done. Victoria
