hehe yeah... No the Canon simply fell over whilst on the tripod one day when I was up at the Washpools.. I sent it away and had it repaired.. new lens mount various other things.. I am gonna ask Johnny (the guy who sold it to me.. an old mate from back in 1972-2 who now owns a camera shop,) about getting a new light meter installed in it.. dunno whether that's the answer tho.. the new one may be just as sh1t as the old one

I imagine the best thing to happen to metering is sony's decision to metre off their live view: suddenly metring off a few thousand pixels used to create that live view image the camera could be much bolder about exposing high.
Pentax is worse than canon for under exposing if that helps.
I thought it had crapped out on you though, that canon.

Like an old man sitting on a porch. Excellent work.

Very lovely capture! I really like the exposure here Roger.
The details are stunning and the colors are great. Sharp
focus with good depth of field. It has great visual impact
and technically sound.

Congrats!

mate I know it looks like I have... however there are a couple of things against me here.. One the laptop screen is much darker than my studio screen at home... (I have just opened the original image on it to check the saturation) and the bloody Canon camera the great 8000 dollar heap of sh1t CONSISTENTLY underexposes.. I uploaded all these whilst I was away and so they were uploaded from the laptop... and yeah it looks like I have... but I dont think I did if anything I would have lightened the bugger so folks could see what the hell is going on!!! If you move your head about six inches to the right as you look at the screen to me here in the studio it pretty much resembles the original...

Great photography Roger. It's nothing but a very dead tree but somehow it's a very powerful image.
