About My opinion is that this kind is not typical kind of photos for me.. I prefer more creative way, especially with animals (like "Animal Destiny" on my personal pages)...
Like this, it's just snapshot, that can be taken by anyone (who's not afraid of bugs, hehh)...
But those days, I have no inspiration for my creativity, and till I wait it to come, must be satisfied with photos like this :-)

Anyway, hope u like it..

You dimiss it lightly as ordinary 'just a snapshot' but it is an excellent macro of good quality Iv. The dof is superb, the tones rich and vibrant and the eye to eye pose is wonderful.
Our own creativity is something that comes and goes, I personally very rarely exhibit my own, I do it for personal enjoyment only. My darling wife hates the results of my endeavours. I have read the comments between Pallab and yourself and cannot agree that the light was excessive however, he is right to say that we must seize the opportunities as they arise.
I understand your feelings about some zoos and the incarcerated animals BUT there is a growing number of them and wildlife parks that do important work in preserving endangered species and we cannot ignor the good in them. I do agree that the poor quality and squalid zoos should be closed down and the animals freed or sent to better centres. Millions of children in the World would never get to see some of our planet's animals in the flesh if it were not for the better zoos and wildlife parks but their eyes should be protected from the worst examples. Sorry to go on so but I visited a wildlife park where there is an amazing conservationist programme going on. Good and bad in this subject just like all subjects really and you are right far far better to see them in the wild, if you can.
I am just catching up on some back postings since my return from holiday. Hope you are well. A big HUUUUUG and my very best wishes as always......Ray

Yes, I agree with you.. especially, it's hard to work with wild animals and birds.. I mean free and wild, not in ZOO (I don't like photos of poor animals in ZOO).. But, since this is not something "usual" to me, I'm fine with this photo.. I know I can better, and we all must go for better, not to be satisfied with this..

I like this one quote about photography:
"I never have taken a picture I've intended. They're always better or worse..."
by D. Arbus

It say all :-)

all the best, my friend...

Thank you, Pallab Benerjee for your comment and advice.. I appreciate it..

Unfortunately, I don't have shots with different exposure :-( This photo was taken on Saturday, after almost 7 hours of mountaineering, when I didn't know even my name, how much I was tired, and I didn't think about multiple shots (+ bug was only few moments on leaf), hehh... I know it's not an excuse, and it should be better.. But u know, maybe it happens to u sometime, to take look photo on display of camera, when outside is sunny, it seems dark enough, and on computer is light.. :-(

This is an excellent macro shot no doubt. But to me the use of light is a bit more than what was required ...With a little less than this I think this image would have given us nice tonal variations as the colors are so rich. These are just my personal feelings and i hope you also have different shots of this with different exposures. But all n all this is an excellent image...congrats..
