The work and musich of bands like AC/DC sound so easy and simple, Gustavo, but believe me: It is extremely hard to do that. Not for the shows and the gigs bit for the songs themselves. You try 100 riffs and you throw 99 into the dustbin. The hard thing is to make things simple, not complicated, and still make them good. As a guitarist of a band I can tell you that it is not at all so special to know what to play. It is very very special and (hard) to know... what to not play.
Not all simple things are ingenious but all ingenious things are simple.
About photos.. Well, I don't find anything as special on a sunrise or a sundive. It is just a sunrise and a sundive to me. A good subject for a photographical study but it is not what I woould be really glad to see. A good company of buddies in a good pub is much better to make me feel good.
The emotional ones should stop believing that over-romantization applies to so many people around.

En mi opinión yo creo que cierto tipo de fotos como los atardeceres/amaneceres y las flores, son fotos muy fáciles de hacer y que te garantizan la aprobación de la gente. ¿A quién no le gusta un bello atardecer, o quién no se conmueve, aunque sea un poquito, ante la belleza de las flores?. Las flores están presentes en casi todos los lugares del planeta, así que solo tenes que salir, quizá, al jardín de tu propia casa, para tener tu foto diaria.
Considero que hay muchos fotógrafos que se conforman con salir airosos sin correr ningún riesgo, apelando a este tipo de fotos sin más esfuerzo que cumplir decentemente la regla de los tercios, una buena luz, un buen enfoque.
Es cierto que además este tipo de imágenes se suelen asociar a melosos sentimientos románticos y a frases poéticas dignas de telenovela mexicana...ja...ja...que bueno, no son nuestro estilo!...:-)
Por eso yo encuentro que es muy difícil ser creativo u original con estos motivos, pero no imposible. Por supuesto para lograrlo hay que salirse definitivamente de las reglas y los estándares.
En cuanto a Genesis Vs AC/DC, guarda, los primeros siempre buscaron cambiar y buscar nuevos horizontes musicales, y aunque Genesis haya muerto en los golpes de batería de Phill Collins, también dio a luz a Peter Gabriel, a Steve Hackett, incluso al propio Anthony Phillips, que continuaron con carreras musicales muy interesantes e innovadoras. AC/DC siempre apeló a la misma y visceral formula de rock fuerte y emotivo, esa fórmula siempre funcionó y seguirá funcionando. Los respeto, pero yo siempre valoro el aporte creativo de los Genesis, Pink Floyd, Van der Graaf, King Crimson, incluso cuando estén ahora, un poco pasados de moda...;-)

In the last few years this kind of photography has been taken as the only kind of photography, Gustavo. Actually it started when many too many amateuric wannabes, most of them girlies, thought that photography has only to satisfy their needs for "romantic views" and make them say "ooohh, beautiful". At the same time, and while the problems of pollution kept on growing, there has been a movement out of a "nostalgia for the good old times", which turned the target group of people that buy such postcards etc bigger and bigger. So, the demand was there, the hipe was there, and the profitable companies were (and still are) in search of such photographers that show me only close-ups of stones, grasses, flowers, machines, etc, etc, and also write some pseudo-philosophical comment on their images, like for example "life is wonderful", "friends are wonderful", "this and that is wonderful". This is of course philosophy for kids. ;-)
Nonetheless noe of those "photographers" will be remembered. Such fashions come and go. It much like genesis and AC/DC. Where are Genesis now? Gone with the wind. But AC/DC still plays, for the guys never pretended anything pseudo-philosophical at all.

Seguís teniendo razón en que tiendo a hacer imágenes muy planas, lo estoy teniendo en cuenta para no restringirme involuntariamente y abrir nuevas posibilidades.

The colors and the details on the front are very nice indeed. The exposure balance was ideal for that very vivid look in vibrant colors. Especially nice I find that the composition was also so well balanced in that chaos of flowers, which is always a had thing to do. The limited DoF was exactly the right thing under theses circumstances.
The depth... well, it is again limited. It focuses on a small range of some few centimeters of reality much like your photoshop images. The rest of the depth plays a small role here. It was good to keep it this way, as the subject itself dectated that, but you see what I mean. The choise of your subjects is flat most of the time. This doesn't mean, however, that the image isn't good. It is very well done in its class.

en cuanto al 50mm f/1.8 es cosa de ver las fotos circulando por ahí con ese lente y los comentarios de sus propietarios! además de que es el lente Canon mas barato...de hecho yo lo tengo casi soldado al cuerpo de mi análoga...
Me imagino que será dificil encontrar por allá el IR, acá no hubo caso, lo encargé a USA (un Hoya R-72 de 58mm) que usándolo con un adaptador 52>58mm uso casi exclusivamente con el 50mm. Debes tener en cuenta que en Canon no todos los lentes nos sirven para IR, revisa este link:

ahi sale una guía de los buenos y malos lentes para infarrrojo.
No me vas a creer, pero hace un par de semanas en una feria de antiguedades en Santiago encontré un filtro infrarrojo pero (lamentablemente) de 50mm de diametro, si no lo hubiese comprado, a un precio casi irrisorio.
lo último...haz como yo! portate bien y ni preguntarán por los costosos jugetitos que nos compramos! jajajaja

La verdad, vos me vas a matar, pero la foto la tomé en modo automático. Vos dirás que es un desperdicio una 50D para sacar en modo "P", y yo digo, tenés razón!!!, ja...ja...
Lo que puedo decirte es que la luz del momento era realmente espléndida, el fotómetro me dio seguramente una buena exposición con diafragma bien abierto, cerca además del objeto, sin dudas iba a obtener muy poca profundidad de campo...
En cuanto al 50:1.8, es una de mis próximas compras junto con un buen filtro IR, porque tengo ganas de explorar un poco este tipo de fotografía...pero bueno, ya he gastado muchísimo!, (mi mujer enojadísima!), tengo que esperar un poco.

me refería a las caracteristicas de apertura, aunque revisando los Sigma 18-200 vi un f3.5-6.3, nada de mal! ahora si, ponle un 50mm f/1.4 y no lo querrás cambiar mas! jajaja yo tengo un Canon 50mm f/1.8 que todavía no me deja de sorprender en sus resultados, una maravilla!

Si tenes razón respecto del lente, lo menciono en el about. En verdad, es uno de los muy discutidos todo terreno, incluso no es el de Canon!, ja...ja..., es un Sigma 18-200 (en la 50D un 27-320 aproximadamente)..., en fin, pese a ser un todo terreno la verdad que me está dando muchas satisfacciones, eso sí, ni imaginarse entonces esta cámara con un 50:1,2 por ejemplo!...

ja...ja...y sí, realmente la 50D es una máquina espléndida, incluso aún ahora cuando todavía la estoy ajustando...También estoy muy conforme con el Sigma 18-200 con estabilizador de imagen, un todo terreno que me está dando muchas satisfacciones sin ser, por ejemplo, un 50:1,2 fijo...ja...ja...

Lo que quiero decir respecto de las flores, es que como los amaneceres o atardeceres, son objetos demasiado utilizados en la fotografía, sin dudas de belleza indiscutible pero que se repiten demasiado y cansan y aburren... guarda, es una opinión totalmente discutible esta que expongo.
Por esto es que yo en general las evito en mi búsqueda (tal vez obsesiva...:-)) de imágenes novedosas y originales. Pero aún las trilladas fotos de flores pueden a veces resultar frescas, nuevas u originales, (lo cual no es fácil) y requiere de mucho talento y creatividad, o algo de suerte por parte del fotógrafo, y también un criterio muy selectivo. En este caso, y siempre para mi gusto, las condiciones excepcionales de luz, los colores tan intensos de las florcitas y el cielo tan celeste que logré que se colara entre los tallos, me dieron una imagen que me pareció interesante, no tan común.
Descuento la correcta ejecución en cuanto a encuadre, foco, DOF, etc, porque pienso que un fotógrafo experimentado no puede conformarse con eso solamente. La foto no solo tiene que estar bien tomada desde la técnica, sino que debe tener siempre "algo más", ese "algo más" será el verdadero logro del artista.
Aunque es cierto también: "uno no puede estar haciendo todos los días obras maestras"...:-)
Bueno, mi querida amiga, me gustaría saber que piensa usted al respecto.
