Oh, THAT would have been cool, Taras.

Nice capture. A shorter exposure could have captured the crescent phase of Venus as well.

You did a good job, so many people just blow out the texture of the moon

Hehe. Thanks, Al. The amazing thing was that the cirrus haze was not this visible to my eyes, and I kept trying different lenses and different apertures to remove it, but they all looked identical.

Saw this EXACT same opportunity tonight... MM and I came home from a night to a new place for dinner and such (They wanted to comp. my meal because they destroyed my request for a rare, rare, rare, rare, rare.... steak... I refused) I saw this as I staggered out of the Montana... but was too lazy to get the tripod and do the camera adjusting things... glad you were in a more positive mood than me. Well done. Yes sir, jointly seen... and non-lazy-a ssss taken...

Great photo Paul. I was admiring these two dance partners as well last night as they did a waltz around Mt. Harding (outside my window).

Comet Lulin is still visible, but you'll need a binoculars if you don't have really dark skies.

oops, that's an older green comet... try out this one instead... comet "Lulin"... it is (or was) in the southeast sky in the early evening - near Saturn. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/stargazers-hope-for-glimpse-of-green-comet-1630849.html

It's called comet Swan, apparently... I don't know how to make a link in here, but here's a website you might like to check out... not sure if it's still visible now or not....

No, I haven't, Gary - what's it called?

Wow, that's cool, Paul! Sure fits the project well (or maybe it's more apt to be in "Perspective" as in reality Venus is larger than the moon?!) It was cloudy here last night.. :( Have you seen that green comet that is supposedly visible (with binoculars?) in the southern sky?? Cheers, Gary
