About I think that a wider angle would bring it out much better, but this one still seems to have something good. Any comments would be very welcome.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and even more for the thoughts, Andre! Indeed for the small format the 50mm come closest to natural vision. But this is unfortunately only for persective, not for size. We see a bigger portion of the world under the "natural 50mm" of our eyes. The small format seems to capture only a part of what we see. I would wish for 50 mm and some bigger format, that is. And as long as I don't have it I just "compress" the rest of the view into the small format by using the wider angles, which then exaggerates perspective and depth. (What you compress in one dimension gets expanded into the other dimension.)

Still I'll have to give the 50mm lens some more chances. I almost forgot about it in the last months.

Cheers!

Nick

Hi Nick,
I suppose a wider angle lens could bring a different look to the scene. But, it is not really necessary. Personally, I used a 50mm lens for years and longed for a wide angle lens. But now that I have one, I tend to curse the distortion :)
I think there is a very good reason why people keep coming back to that 50mm range. I guess it's closest to the way we see with our own vision.
