Nice color combination and interesting angle. If you recall I raise Amaryllis bulbs for fun. I have about a dozen that will be blooming soon. I run out of new ways to film then. Using a contrasting color background gives a nice result. Did you use a yellow background or fill it in using something like photoshop? I like the result.

Really exciting, Dave, and I don't know if it is only because of the nicely depicted details/textures on the flower itself or rather because of them in *combination* with the background yellow. It seems to be that it boosts the vividness but by preserving the fragility of the flower.
The nice contours are a bit pixelated in some places but as one gets absorbed into the soft color transitions in the center of the flower they don't appear as important. And that center is amazing to me because of the well weighted balance between contrast and smooth color transitions. It reminds me in this sense of a very rich water color image.
Only for my curiosity, was that a real background (wall, paper, etc) or did you add it afterwards?

I belong some bulbs of Amaryllis , but thei still are "sleeping" Hope within shot thei will bloom :)
This shot of yours is a proof of how beautiful these kind of flowers are. Of course your cleverness in photography has been determining .

Nice... I could say that flower looks like... blood! :-) Amazing the strength on the line between the two main colors, love it, somehow reminds me a bit of the photos at 60s when photographers trying to put strong differences between the colors, great stuff!
