Hmm... I don't remember any specific smell there... But I tasted the water from one "pramen" (Czech word for such a spring) and it tasted strange... I remember that years ago the water I had at home had a bit of iron within and it had a bit yellowish colour comparing with the mineral water for example. But it didn't taste so bad ;p Maybe it's the taste of sulfur? Maybe there are both sulfur and iron and who knows what else, the water left so many colours... :)

Ania,what I have remembers from my secondary school study,is that the color yellow belongs to sulfur,and this sulfur is very common in healthy springs,and an easy way to distinguish sulfur from other metals is the smell,it got very sharp smell like a burnt wool or nails,smelled even from far distances,any how ,you are there and know better, we have in my city two such springs,one is with cold water,and the other is having very hot water, my regards, Saad.
