Wow Gene!! What a great moment. With the lense you used, you had to be pretty close to this cat. I'm not sure I would want to take a photo like this even with bars. I live in Northern California and there was a man attacked by one of these cats a couple of years ago. Fantastic Catch. Darryl

Hi Gene, that is an impressive story. Must've been very scary indeed! Good shot, maybe a bit bright on the flash, but under the circumstances, that's only a minor thing... How did the kitty react to such a bright light? Interesting shot, and fyull merits for the daring shot!
