Thanks so very much Arian. I am trying to learn PS as I go along. I thought this would make a good B/W image when I first shot it. I have been exploring and playing with as much as I can figure out in PS. Thanks so much for the complements and encouragement. I am trying to be an artist with my camera as my medium. Thanks for giving me a reason to keep trying. Failure is only the opportunity to try something else!!
Be well my friend, Stan

Hi Mirek, this was for a friend. We ski and do some projects together. I am new to digital and am just exploring some of the PS options.. I am trying to develop my skills to the point that I can have some clients. Do you shoot professionally? Any suggestions on getting started in the arena of marketing images? Thanks for your great input and visual response to the images.
Be well, Stan

Hey Stan! I would rather hang the color version in my shop. The textures, the spot welding, shine on metal and rust on pipes to me they look better and describe the metal work more accurate, but I don't know what Your client likes.

Thanks for the great detailed comment Andy! Glad you saw my intentions with this. Was using some filter tools to rough it up a little and give it some starker contrast. Was just playing around in my friends metal shop while he was welding. He did not know that I caught this and I gave him a print the following week. He loved it.

Intersting shot. It is well composed, and I think the croping and reworking are very effective. It has nice patterns that create an abstract image while maintaining the identity of the subject.
Well done.

Hi Mirek, thanks for the detailed comment. Here is the original image in color. My actual intent was to make it a rough looking B/W with the stark tones. It was for a 8x12 on matt finish paper for my friends shop. I know I lost some highlights but was going for the imperfect rough look. Thanks for
your visit and opinion of this shot. That is what makes this a great site.

Thanks Dave, these are made for air tools to drive
anchors into mine walls for attaching safety mesh and other purposes. I have a friend that does freelance welding work and fabrication. Took this for a wall hanger print in his shop.

Hello Stan! How are You? I can see the converging lines, and the pattern is good, cold and metalic, but too much photoshop took away textures in highlights where I think it would be very important for Your picture.

An interesting perspective of these sockets, Stan! Makes a good abstract, too.
Dave.
