I think it is a great work, but the composition is not perfect. I think, it's better, if you cut the clower portion, and convert the one to a Sq format. Just try, it will look better. See this.

Excellent shot. Great contrast between texture, dog and dog's shadow. Nice catch. IMHO, a lower angle would be also interesting.
