Hi Harry,in Mosul from 15 SEP till 15 DEC is the period of which the flowers blooms, then start a very cold weather, sometimes reach to -4 with snowing though very infrequently, this dahlia is from Holland origin, some of my gardenia blooms also, but they don't reach the final state,my regards, Saad.

Correct observation, autumn is a second season of growth for plants, also here. But most do stop and blossom in spring. But I have a tree Robinia that does blossom again, only 5% A good test for the D300. Lovely Dahlia !

Hi Paul,I appreciate your comment, and I knew the meanings that is hidden behind its lines. I have started a new portfolio titled Mosul the old Nineveh, a difficult one for me because of the difficulty of collecting and shooting photos in a battle zone, anyhow I will do my best in order not compromise anything,in this portfolio I will try to tell some facts about the city, and this fact of the flowers being fooled by the weather is one of those facts. and my city have many names, among them The Mother of Two Springs, and Mosul have the best weather in Iraq during spring and fall, and it is a fact that the flowers that blooms during spring,re bloomed during fall too, even some annual bulbs do the same,I have now carnation blooms in my garden while winter is knocking our doors,my best regards and wishes, Saad.

Ultra sharp with your new D300, Saad. Beautiful. It is not the weather which fools the flowers, it is the camera you use. All the nice models too, look so beautiful if they are aware of the reputation and price of the camera ... Don't let you fool by Paul :-)
