Aptly named. Ugh. Great detail though. Congratulations on a great shot. You wouldn't catch me anywhere near this guy! You are braver than I.

Hi Laura,
The shot was f14, 1/250, and iso 800. I underexposed in manual mode to darken the background and use a flash to highlight the spider. I stopped down the flash by 1/3 ev too. He was about 4 inches from the lens so I was nervous he would jump on it. If he did I'm sure the neighbors would of gotten a good laugh watching a me freak out.

Hi Eric,

What a fantastic capture - amazing detail, and I have goosebumps! I wouldn't want to find this creature in my home or car, that's for sure. How did you manage to get such a tight close-up and maintain so much DOF? What was the focal lenghth on this shot?
