Those of you who know me well will understand this image and the comments better than those of you who may be just passing by. I was looking at the cover to the DVD of Iron Man I just bought (not the outer sleeve, the inner hard plastic case/cover) and the image of Tony Stark has the top 5th of his head cut off. The photo is not "complete." Much the same as the pic of the crop duster I had tossed out of competition because I cut off the very outer tips of the wings. My goal was to focus attention on the propeller coming straight at me, head-high. And the Tony Stark shot, because the top bit of his head is missing, forces the eye to go to the center of his chest for balance... and the very core of what makes Iron Man, well, Iron Man. The fact Tony Stark is encased in a flexible iron suit and has a very bad ticker (heart)... well, nice ironic paradox thingy going. So, if I get my pic tossed out of competition because it did not "show" everything, and a massive marketing team uses a missing top of head pic to do the exact same thing, force the eyes to focus on the subject of import... then I guess I can show ya some head and torso missing fellas that are dishing up some pot cooked stew for MM and me. The first one who tells me I cut off the heads will be on my list... er, lists. 'Cause I have several of them and I know who you are... so watch it.
