About I visited Shakuji Park with my photographer friend on Japanese "Respect for the Aged" day (September 15). The weather was overcast, but the colours luminous and the vegetation luxurious after our long, hot, wet summer.

Thanks, Amitava. I bracketed the exposure, which I selected manually, and played with the Active-D and D-retouch commands to get this nice combination of shadow density with full brightness
range. I am becoming very fond of my D300. It handles wide dynamic ranges quite well, and the noise, even at 1600 ISO, is acceptable. I could never say either of those things about the D200.
