About The shadow of the tree should imply its presence, that's clear. Still I don't know if the image is good for that. (I mean the image itself, and not what one might connect to the image.) Any comments would be very welcome.

la maîtrise des lumières a permis de dessiner une forme abstrait à côté de l'image figurative des fleurs...
très bonne photo..

Thanks a lot Vandy!

I can imagine that a good focus of the background too would add much here! A good idea, and certainly for trying it that out too!

Cheers!

Thanks a lot Saad!

Well, for me it was easy since I didn't have to imagine anything at all. The tree was there behind me. But if this is also your impression about that, then I am glad for managing to do it right in this sense.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Dave!

As Paul also said, indeed the shadow let the yellow flowers stand out better. I am glad about the fact that we all converge here.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot Kiarang!

Well, I just found a suitable shadow. Too few of them anyway.

Cheers!

A map, you say, Aziz! Well, now that you say I also have this impression! Thanks a lot!

But what does it imply more than the tree behind me, Aziz? I didn't understand that exactly.

Anyway, thank you very much, and...

R'n'R!!!

Thanks a lot again, Paul!

I also noticed that strong colors get an apparent "support" from surrounding shadows, which comes from the higher contrast, I guess. So still I look for some shadows with good shape and good contours. Unfortunately they are many times so diffuse.

Cheers!

Very creative work, Nick, and very well done.
I prefer more DOF but its allright anyway.

Best regards,
Vandi

Great shadow capture, Nick! We certainly know the tree is there! I like the way the flowers have shown up in the colours brought out by the shade as well.

Sorry, I forgot to rate, ..
I take this opportunity to mention also about the impact of its contrast, which is helpful.

The framework and composition have made this image the overcome of the shadow of the tree to the florish ground, I mean it imply more than a presence !
And the whole image has got a shape of a map !
Health and happiness

The first thing that leaps out at me is not the shadow, but more philosophically, how the shadow allows the bright flowers to stand out from the background vegetation.
