Nice image Richard, get the tripod you would absolutely have a screaming image here if you got another 1/2 inch of DOF....Well done.

Thanks again Gary, never really thought about it. I'm finding that I love macro photography ... so maybe I'll make that investment of a focusing rail with small tripod.
It has to be close to ground ... spider 4 was taken about 3 inches off the ground and aiming up. A sunbeam was coming from the side and struck behind the spider. Cant imagine using a tripos for that ... but they probably make something that would have worked.

Thanks Gary, this guy is littttttttttttle, not sure the view can tell just how little this spider is. Needless to say, focus was very critical ... I tried for more depth of field ... but my hands were very unsteady and I needed the sutter speed for hand held shot.
