Procedure:
Use a lightbox covered with thick carton but with a mask the size of a slide.

Put camera and macrolens op a tripod, pointing towards the lightbox.Set at distance to lightbox so that slide is full image on camera image.

Use a black coated tunnel between slide and lens so no ambient light falls on the slide.
Put grain layer of slide facing macro lens.
Set lens at f/20
Make exposures EV -2 .... +2 ( wider range for more quality)
Use self timer of camera
ASA 100 or 200
Use automerge to HDR in Photoshop.
I dont use tonemapping.

Like the composition of the boats. Motors look like they cost more than the boats. Does the conversion process effect your background or was it a little light anyway. Just curious how this works. You use a light box and shoot with a macro lens? Have not seen the set up, but was wondering what was involved.
It is great to see the world through your pictures.
