used a grad-ND (3 stop) but the reddish tone is purely due to warm first sunlight of the day. this was shot sometime around 5am in the morning.

Ok, thanks... so from looking at your other photos, I take it you used filters to achieve the darkened/redish effect?

Wow, don't think I've seen mono lake captured in quite this manner. It looks somewhat like I'd expect Mars to look like... very interesting! Great colors and sillouette shapes against that wonderful dark orange background on the horizon. Did you use a red strobe to illuminate the foreground shrub? Well done!
