About	Black Creek Pioneer Village opened in 1960 as a tribute to the Toronto area's pioneering roots.The museum,built around the original Stong Farm on the banks of Black Creek,grew to include other historic buildings which were moved here from surrounding communities.Every year thousands of people from the area and around the globe visit to experience something of Canadas past in the homes,workshops and various public buildings that together present this part of the world as it looked in the 1860's. The first settlers in this region where ancestors of the Iroquis,who began establishing villages in the area around 900 A.D. The farm and gardens at Black Creek Pioneer Village are bome to heritage breeds of domestic animals and beirloom plants. Roblin's Mill is Toronto's only working water-powered mill and supplies flour used in the Half Way House restored kitchen. More info:www.blackcreek.ca
