About This is a very different vantage point than the previous upload; this one was taken several minutes before that one. Very tough for me to choose which one I like better because they feel so different from one another, but I think I'm leaning more towards this one. Now before anyone says anything about the colors being too saturated I have to say...this was one amazing scene to witness and the colors are as close as I can get them to what I saw. I hope you all know I always try to reflect reality. This shot is actually two bracketed shot that I brought together in CS3 by hand. I don't use the HDR feature because I don't feel that it does the shot justice. I know it takes considerably longer but I'd rather blend them manually; looks more like the actual scene did. (My opinion anyway) With all that...I hope you all like this one. :)

Hi there; used a wide angle on this one to get it all in...just love this place. Thanks for the great compliment my friend!!

this is fantastic. you certainly have my respect.... I do have a question. is this stitched at all or did you shoot wide angle enough to get it all in?

It looks fantastic to me, the light catching the mountains is magical.

And i agree about HDR, i'm not a big fan of HDR, i like the way it brings out more detail but not the way it alters colours.

There's not much to say about this image other than it's as close to perfection as is possible.
I see you have learned well and become a Master, my friend. Well done, your images will be an inspiration for all who follow you.
And only two years ago, you asked me if I thought your images were "good enough". ;)
Oh, and hello to your Mom, too.

My most favorite place in the country, I've photographed half of the national parks here in the U.S. and I can attest to this version. I too have seen this magical scene in real life and this shot comes close to being a true representation. Another wonderful shot! -john
