Hey, *thanks* for the info about the open aired carriage towards the back, Dan! I didn't know that! So they tried to keep that as a secret, ey? But my remote cooperator told me! Heheeee! Imagine which carriage I am going to search next time I'm in that train, Dan!! ;-)
About the lower angle, I see what you mean. The good thing about this train is that the windows can be opened almost all the way down, so you don't need to somehow squeeze the camera through some small opening.
Cheers!

Good idea, Tony! I'll surely try that, but it will get much harder! If the locomotive is in the middle of the curve, then I'll have to lean out much more for getting a good part of the train. But it's worth doing I guess!
Thanks a lot for the idea!

Yes my friend you are not wrong the windows can't be opened but now because of the smoking indoors laws they have an open aired carriage towards the back, I was only there a short time as it was very freezing ;-).
What I really like about your shot here is you much lower shooting angle so you have more of the train in the frame, makes the train more significant

Thanks a bunch for the image, Dan!
Well, why not interesteing? I find the sheer distance and emptyness quite strong. The train could have a better contrast to the rest of the ground, but still not bad at all, really! In sose sence also much much stronger than mine!
BTW, how did you shoot that? From what I know the windows of the transalpine can't be opened. Am I mistaken?
Cheers!

Hi Nick, I would like to see a shot taken just as the engine was in the middle of the bend. All said and done this is a fantastic shot!

Yes it sounds like it was ;-). Here is the shot I was talking about, not as interesting or as good as yours.

Thanks a lot for the explanation, Saad! Now I understand! So it is like the attachment but also with more of the woods at the right.
I can't say what this would look like since I don't remember exactly how many trees and what else was at the right. It would be less an image about the train through travelling through the woods, I guess. Still I have to try that as you suggested too. So thanks a lot for the good input!
Cheers!

Thank you very much for the nice comment, Gustavo!
But I wasn't really that brave. This train travels very slowly at that place because the gear has to be used for managing to get the very steep slope. Some things still go slow in old good Switzeria! ;-)
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Dan, for the nice detailed comment! I'm glad if you like it so much!
So you were on the transalpine too? So nice to hear! But your job must have been harder since that train is much faster than this one. This one is a small one from Lucerne to Meiringen. A great part of the route is done at very low speeds because of the necessary gear for managing to take the steep slope. At some points it's so slow that (we say) you could get out, collect some flowers, and get back on the train again. ;-) But that's the very charm of it, I guess.
Cheers and thanks again!

hi.what I mean is as you look to the photo now just turn your eyes (camera) to the right and hence you get the last carriage and a larger view of the wood. regards, Saad.

Thanks a lot for the nice detailed comment and suggestion, Saad! So, if I understand you right, it should be only the very front one? (Only this way I could have only one of them.) Do you mean something like the attachment?
Cheers!

Thank you very much for the nice comment, Dave!
I guess that such a background makes the distance more tangible and thus it fits the subject of travelling in that distance.
Cheers!

De las últimas cuatro esta es la que más me gusta. El momento de luz es muy bueno, el paisaje muy bello y el tren le pone un toque muy interesante. Muy valiente usted para tomar la foto!...;-)
Un abrazo!

Great shot Nick, I love the angle of the shot. I have one similar on the trans alpine, not as good as this one though :-). The composition is fantastic here, I love the flow of all the elements it is very lovely to look at. Buddy I think you have the perfect amount of train here.

since you asked, here is a humble answer, including many carriages of the train in the shot is not ideal,I think only one is enough, and this will lead to a larger subject in the photo , hope you get my point, best of me Saad.
