Thanks Bob! I agree with you. This was probably the 450th photo I took that day so I wasn't as energetic and orchestrating every angle. I wish I had tho. I'll email you with the link to see the whole album online if you want. I appreciate your comments, very valid.
I'll start with the things I don't like. Her olympian grip of the bouquet, like she's about to light the torch for the opening of the games. Ok, I'm over-stating this perhaps but her grip and position of the arm/flowers does interject the ONLY ungraceful element of this photo. Also, not enough profile on her face as she's turned slightly away. She appears to be looking at the flowers and her face should follow her gaze. (IMO)
The light, rest of the pose and even the breeze blowing the veil to the left away from the camera are great. The slight over-exposure gives this a nice hi-key feel/look and softens the background brightness so that it blends with the feeling of this pose.(except for that torch grip) This pose is flattering to the bride's form with exception of...well, you know. (the "grip")
Now what I'd like to see, although this would not really change/improve the photo, is her left hand a bit more clearly, perhaps as IF about to hold her dress up from the sand. Just a graceful finger-tip lifting of the material ever so sightly. In fact, I'd switch the flowers to the back hand with a very loose grip and then her forward hand holding the dress as described above with a more complete profile of her face (turned just slightly toward the camera more) and looking out to the horizon.
The other thing that would work (IMO) is to go with what you have here but untighten that grip on the flowers and raise them up with her smelling their fragrance with her face following her downward gaze with more profile showing. I think we want to see where her nose attaches to her face. She looks to have a lovely profile. Also, with the flowers raise her arm would not hide her waist.
