Not a problem! I have been holding him up for years. Its his long arms you see. He keeps tripping over them when he runs and the knuckles hit the ground. Luckily he has all that hair on his head to protect him when he falls. Hes not the swinger he used to be. lol

Sorry Jen for the misunderstanding there.. I've seen poverty, maybe the poorest of the poor and I know they are same for all.. you take a picture of the affluent, they may react the same way. I don't see them protest or express frustration because of envy, maybe for other reason. I described the man because I don't think he is a threat to the photographer.
Please extend my apology to Paul too, I see no picture where I could reach him.

Must say my car isnt really very different...loll...almost an oldtimer as well from '94! But still working and making me happy to bring anywhere I want...still.....:))
Maybe you are right that I didnt look well enough at his status, he might have felt embarresed to have this verhicle standing there not being able to get rid of it somehow.....
Be sure Paul did travel like me, although not in the same kind of verhicles I think and all local busses, but seen most of the same bad areas and townships as well, just like you have my dear Bobot:)) I am sure you have those area's as well over there, sad enough:( I should learn more from you too, and I do already!! Thanks for your about too!!!!

Thanks a lot dear Paul, the poverty in Lesotho is quite huge, comparing to countries around, not much difference in all those years I havent been on this side...its even worse at the other side in the Drakensbergen, high and very cold up there!
No, the man was really kind and after this having fun, I know I should be more careful now, as life is getting worse there as well.....
I mostly start talking to people I travel with as I normally travel by public transport, sharing my food and thats what they really appreciate, always bringing sweets and nuts for on the way..buying banana's, giving the kids:) I might even feel more frustrated not being able to help out and show them a better life, but what can we do??

It looks like my car but mine has tires..;) What a lucky man to have had a privilege of owning a car, I think he is well but not in some standards. He is in a presentable attire and has good pair of shoes on his feet, he has a watch on his wrist. He has a good painted house with a small yard. He doesn't look sad maybe just wondering what or why you are taking his photograph.
I am not sure what Paul de B has on his mind.. think he has to travel like what you did.. {to see}

Hi Jen,
Nice shot on your way, shadowed place with a view on poverty. All my previous cars of last 30 years are supposed to continue service or rusting away slowly somewhere on the African continent.
The man did not protest or express frustration ? As so many times it happens how do you feel in taking shots with people in serious need or needing some help ? Today little fear taking bits of their soul as angriness not getting part of your glory, let's say pocket money. (never offer your own car instead :-) I'm curious how you created a natural attitude by starting a friendly or charming chat first or apologized after having shown your camera and making him frustrated.
