And not to speak about aged bottles of good old scotch, ey?? ;-)

Sometimes I wish, we could all sit with such a bottle (or seveal bottles) under a starry night sky. But some night it will take place, I am sure. So I just take time and wait.

Cheeeeeeers!

Indeed, Avi, it's a very good and healthy critique for the own work, And it is also the more relaxed and less self-convinced way to face the own work. Just let it ripe in mind for a time, and from time to time take a look.

The photo-narcissism which you very reasonably refer to, is such a widespread phenomenon. It doesn't only carry the danger of getting too quick when judging bout what we do, but also removes by the by any ability to wait. A good wine is not to be drank one minute after the bottle is filled.

So we open a good old bottle to that, aaaaaaand:

CHEEEERS!!

What an amazing similarity with my thoughts, Nick. You see, MOST of the images I post here, would be, at any point in time, at least a couple of months old.. if not older.. barring a very few, it has alwayyys been my approach. That is one way I try to criticise my own work and squeeze out any amount of photo-narcissism (did I say that, AGAIN ?.. lol..) that may creep in.

A BIG CHEERS to that !!!!

Thanks a lot Avi, alias Fotogr@vi! ;-) Nice spell game, indeed!

To tell you the truth in such cases the flairs are a blessing to me. For some reason they tell me about the light under silence up there.

But anyway I was completely lucky to find the house and the path since it is really a rather isolated place, and most of the time the human presence is really very "scarce".

About B&W, of course! I already did that but I wait until I am a bit more detached from the images. For the time being I find all the B&W images great, but that's merely the enthusiasm of the one that still has a very live remembrance of the photo shooting itself. Much like finding any new song that you write great. After some months it is then not so great. So I'll have to wait some months and then take a look at those images again and post some.

Thanks a lot again and cheers!

Enjoying your mountain series. This one is my pick so far, mainly due to the inclusion of the path (leading line) and the house on the right. The flare doesn't bother me.

Would you try it in B&W ?

Cheers !

Thank you so much for the great detailed comment and even more for the suggestion, Visar! This is by the way what I was thinking about it. It would really enhance it!

I must get some more of that place!

Cheers!

Many thanks for the nice comment, Dave! I am glad if it conveys something of that light with the flares.

Cheers!

In addition to all the beautifully selected details to be within the frame; the vast vibrant-green field, the winding road, the cabins, trees, snowcapped mountains, are great therapy for the eye! Adding to it the lens flares and our hears get weak! ;)

If, perhaps, another try, for a minor correction on the angle/ not the composition, having it from a bit more onto the right where the road would depart right on the edge- maybe, would enhance this already too attractive image.

So great a shot Nick, i like the sense that it creates.
cheers,
v.

Excellent composition here, Nick, with the road being a very good lead in to the image. Again, I think the flare enhances the atmosphere in this shot.
