The "radioactivity" is well present here, Gustavo! But not the "death", really. You might want atke a look to http://www.hrgiger.com/ .
Still it is a good work! It is only that I have the impression, you should use the more subtle fears and less the widely accepted symbols. A face that smiles can be of more angst than any skull. You are into something, definitely! Keep it up!

Hola mi querido amigo!, una alegría leerte!, estoy algo ocupado estos días pero trataré de participar más.
Muy cierto lo que decís, la voracidad de energía de la humanidad es enorme. Pero como siempre solo uno pocos gastan la mayoría de la energía en una ciega carrera consumista y armamentista, mientras que el resto de la humanidad solo podemos ver, incapacitados de hacer nada, ese derroche irracional y ajeno que incluye también a nuestros propios recursos, no te olvides que yo vivo en el tercer mundo, en un país emergente.

Hmmm, radioactivity is no danger. It is only death, and that was never a danger! ;-) Or so the politicians say.
Well, on the image. It's too usual, Gustavo! I can't say that it conveys anything of your subject. The skull is no more a sign for death - we are in 2008! But then again, you will say, what else can be the sign of death? Well, I don't know, Gustavo. I really don't know, but I don't connect a skeletton with some hazard that happened some years ago.
About atom energy again... we don't want it because it is dangerous and it contaminates nature. Burning oil is also unwished since it it bad for the surroundings. Many too many people already complain about the wind energy rotor plants near where they live. But consuming energy, oooh, that's something else isn't it?
The same guys that are able to get out and scream against radioactive danger are also the *biggest* consumers of energy. Or did you ever hear of some demonstration against too high energy consumption in some not industrial country? We use a hell of energy everyday and we have the faces to come out and sing songs about the dangers of radioactivity? What else will I hear on this world? The easiest way to avoid all this hazards is: Take the bicycle or go to work on foot. But of course it is tooooo cold in winter and toooo hot in summer. ;-)

Noi polachi possiamo dire qualcosa su Chernobil. Fronteggiamo con Ucraina. Sono stati parecchi danni anche fra i polacchi. Tanti morti al cancro ed altre malatie come la consequenza.

la idea me parece fantástica como siempre, quizás yo hubiera añadido más dramatismo si cabe con un cielo con algo de color a través de los ojos de la calavera y quizás un mayor relieve de la misma (mayor efecto tridimensional) pues parece un poco empastada con el fondo, pero realmente no soy un experto en capas, sólo te transmito mi impresión; un abrazo querido amigo

I don't know exactly what you have written in your above comment, but I can imagine thought I read the year 1986 and Tchenorbyll.
Crazy world and we humans destroy it by ourselves. Indeed a bad accident that happened and even after those many years you still see the worse results. But nobody has learned their lesson, though we still use atoms to produce power and even for mass destruction. So therefore my great respect posting your image and at least showing some of us the understanding what is wrong in the world.

Gracias David, realmente me alegra que te guste y tu opinión siempre la tengo en cuenta.
Y sobre Chernobil, todo comenzó cuando Nick Karagiaouroglou me recordá a Kraftwerk y la nostalgia me llevo a desempolvar algunos viejos discos y luego a comprar "Minimum - Maximum", una actuación en vivo y del 2004 del legendario grupo alemán, padres de la música electrónica, y del cual me impresionó mucho la fuerza y la estética de "Radioactivity", su mención directa Chernobil, Sellafield y Harrisburg y su electrónico clamor: "Stop the radioactivity". Luego preguntarme ¿qué pasa con la energía nuclear? fue un paso más en esta cadena de libres asociaciones...y bien, aquí me tenes...:-)

En cuanto al acidente es lamentable, ojala no ocurra esto de nuevo, pero bueno todos estamos demandando mas energia, asi que todos de alguna manera somos responsables de accidentes menores o mayores como el de Chernobil.

Finalmente les dejo para reflexionar otro fragmento del exelente estudio de José Santamarta Flórez:
"La crisis de la energía nuclear
Hoy la industria nuclear está sumida en una profunda crisis. Hay en el mundo 441 reactores nucleares comerciales en operación, con una potencia instalada de 362 Gigavatios (1 GW=1.000 MW). La energía nuclear, presentada hace 30 años como la alternativa al petróleo y al carbón, hoy sólo representa el 6% del consumo mundial de energía primaria.
Hoy sólo se están construyendo 30 centrales, con una potencia de 24,8 GW, el menor número desde hace 30 años, respondiendo a pedidos de años anteriores. La cifra de pedidos es insuficiente para mantener una industria nuclear, que sólo se mantiene gracias al despilfarro de recursos públicos.
La potencia instalada en 2004 (362 GW) es sólo un 9% superior a la de 1990 (329 GW), cifra doce veces inferior a los 4.450 GW previstos por la AIEA en 1974 para el año 2000. La energía nuclear, agobiada por problemas de seguridad, almacenamiento definitivo de los residuos radiactivos, costes disparatados, alternativas mejores como las turbinas de gas, el aumento de la eficiencia y las energías renovables (sobre todo la eólica), y la oposición de una opinión pública bien informada, no tiene ningún futuro, a pesar de los esfuerzos realizados para diseñar nuevos reactores más seguros, utilizando para ello enormes recursos públicos. Mientras, un total de 101 reactores con una potencia instalada de 32.680 MW han cerrado definitivamente. La vida media de operación es inferior a los 18 años, muy alejada de los 40 años prevista por las empresas constructoras. La central nuclear de Vandellós en la provincia de Tarragona, donde el 19 de octubre de 1989 se produjo un accidente en un reactor de tipo grafito-gas, es la única central nuclear que hasta ahora se ha cerrado en España, pero es probable que pronto se cierren Zorita y Garoña, dos centrales llenas de achaques y con deficientes medidas de seguridad. El nuevo gobierno del PSOE prevé abandonar la energía nuclear en los próximos 20 años.
Muchos de los programas nucleares sólo enmascaran la decidida voluntad de hacerse con armamento nuclear. Los casos más conocidos son Israel, Suráfrica, Irak, Irán, Corea del Norte, Pakistán y la India, pero lo cierto es la que los llamados usos pacíficos de la energía nuclear siempre han estado ligados desde su origen a los usos militares."

En primer lugar mi reconocimiento a H. R. Giger a quién le debo una fuerte influencia para esta imagen y en segundo lugar menciono que la calavera la he tomado de una de las tantas fotos libres que hay en internet y que puede encontrarse fácilmente buscando en imágenes de Goggle con la palabra "skull", no obstante le transformado de manera fundamental, aún así, mi reconocimiento y agradecimiento al autor.
