About Jellyfish are marine invertebrates belonging to the class Scyphozoa of the phylum Cnidaria. They can be found in every ocean in the world and in some fresh waters. The term "jellyfish" is a common name, and therefore does not imply any systematic relationship to vertebrate fish -- jellyfish are cnidarians. The term "jellyfish" is also applied to some close relatives of true scyphozoans, such as the Hydrozoa and the Cubozoa.

The body of an adult jellyfish consists of a bell shape producing jelly and enclosing its internal structure, from which tentacles are suspended. Each tentacle is covered with cells called cnidocytes, that can sting or kill other animals. Most jellyfish use these cells to secure prey or for defense. Others, such as the Rhizostomae, do not have tentacles at all.

These were big, real big and not easy to see
when you swim, still I love to see their beauty,
although I start screeming when I feel them;))

Be safe today, almost weekend! Enjoy, xxJen

This is great Jen. You created a nice abstract with this sea creature. I don't like seeing them in the water, I run away like a little girl...haha.
Big hug my dear friend. Have a wonderful weekend.

lovely abstract looking photo of The Blob.. this is edible and usually served as appetizers in Chinese restaurants... interesting monochromatic shot Jen, it's the lighting that had really made this a very good photograph..
great shot!

Thhis jelly was just part of it, will show you
the whole one, the often get in pieces, think
banging against rocks and eaten by fish I think..
I hate the feeling of these slimy thing against
my legs...lolll just like crabs or litle fish
like they have in Turkey...:))
Thanks for looking and liking my stuff, I am so
happy I sold 5 of my shots, so my weekend is
starting great already!!!;))
The weather here was fine today, I am not wearing
boots anymore and just enjoyed buying frames for
my shots in town and will see what the new owners
will say about it;))
I am so happy you're doing well there and hus
being home, will write to you later, big big hugs
my strong friend, be well and relax for the
weekend sweety, Jenxx

else..loll
Thanks a lot for liking it, have a wonderful
weekend too, enjoy and relax!!
Hugss and kiss, Jenxx

Love the shiney monotone in this image.
You seem to have more than just a fleeting interest in these creatures. I was fortunate enough to spend some time in the far north of Australia, where signs abound to beware of the box jellyfish, the stings of which are often fatal. They look so innocuous! CC
