About It was once again impressive to see how nice it can be to not only consider history and culture as something for museums and for admiration, but to rather live in it and with it everyday. The non-interrupted flow of time in which one is then embedded makes things more easy to grasp and also brings another kind of identity. I remembered that unbroken line of all mathematicians since most ancient times. They are all still there together with the whole collective bunch of cognition and knowledge. I hope that this one makes it a bit visible through the old city wall and the new house. The composition seems again a bit unfinished to me. Any ideas what to do better?

Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, Kiarang, and even more for your good advices. Today I do exactly what you say many times, which is quite the opposite of what I did some years ago, when I was taking these images. I guess that a more focused image would be better in this case too.

Oh,and as about the place, unfortunately I don't live there in Florence but in Lucerne/Switzerland. A nice city too, but I wish I could spens some months each year in Florence. And some in Barcelona, and some in Schiraz, and in Kavala - many too many interesting places, ey? ;-)

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Dave! Well, some little overexposure on the city wall is still there, but otherwise I am also happey with it.

Cheers!

the composition gives us a lot of different information;
gives us some things about culture, about daylife, even atmosphere, and also gives us some visual elements about the Architecture of the location that photographer lives.
technically close F-stop needs for such a perspective like this to have perfect and long focusing on all details of this subject.

You've provided a good contrast with the textures and details of the stone wall, Nick and the newer house. I think you've composed this one well.
Dave.
