As witnessed on my walk on the Marsh Trail at the San Jacinto Monument. It was about 2 feet long and a bit irritated at my approach. I, of course, left a wide enough margin while watching it thrash the end of his tail while showing its fangs. They are quite common around here, but this is the first for this year.
Wow, a little too close for comfort for me, but your bravery paid off this time! Be careful where you step out there! Yikes!! He doesn't look real friendly! lol 7/7
If I had taken that photo, it would be so blurry from shaking so much you wouldn't recognize it! lol
You have more nerves than I do Robert LOL! I'm not sure I could have stood still long enough to get a shot off with the snake being so close. Great job on your part.
