About Pan shot... not a complete success, but an interesting effect withal.

I would say it was a complete success Jon. It is full of colour, life and very vibrant! What more were you looking for?
I suspect maybe you would have liked to see some more sharpness in the panned face. But I don't think it is absoloutely necessary to get the point across.

Thanks, Mike - yes, not exactly what I was after but even blurry he's still beeyootiful... sniff... LOL (he's mine; I admit to a bias :-)

Thanks, Adrienne. I forget the shutter speed, but it was more like 1/15 or so. I didn't help that he was also rotating as he swung. I would have thought 1/60 too fast for a pan, but I'll try some more. Thanks again.

Cheers,

Jon

I think that while you may not have achieved your total objective you certainly have produced an interesting result - in my view it is still a shot worth sharing

I like what you were attempting to get at here, but the boy in subject is still too blurry to be a really great shot. Try quickening your shutter speed just a tad... I find that 1/60 of a second while using the pan motion technique really works wonders for these kind of shots. Keep shootin!
