Thanks Avi - it's a pretty simple process. You open a texture jpg into photoshop (one that has scratches and is really dirty looking) and paste it onto your image as a separate layer.

Then in your layer menu on the right side of the screen you select normal, or darken, or multiply or overlay, or which ever effect works well with you image. Make adjustments using the opacity tool and there you have it.

I cannot find a tutorial on this particular method, but you should be able to find some texture files by going to www.flickr.com and searching the "groups" section for "textures"

As for the actual process, the following link outlines a similar workflow (but instead of duplicating the layer, you add in the texture file as a layer).
