Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the suggestion, Gimena!
What makes you think that it is sad? Flowers are neither sad nor happy to me, so I would really like to know what you think is sad here.
But considering brightness, look at the droplets. They would completely disappear with more exposure, and since they are important parts of the main subject they must be kept as visible as possible. And this is the big problem here. Metering light with more weight on them will of course make the exposure good there, but it will also make the darker background almost black. The question then is rather if somebody finds that good or bad, and I found it just OK as a background for the flower, though I would also wish a bit mire details back there.
Cheers,
Nick

Thank you so much for the nice detailed comment, Visar, and just keep "barking" please! Only this way I might also get some more skill.
Indeed, I completely see what you mean, which invokes my backward engineering on the image. I should stand a bit further away or zoom out a bit more, I guess! I don't really remember what was over the captured part, but I guess that it was simply the continuation of the flower and the rest of that leaf.
Thanks a lot once again!
Nick

Se ve triste, pero no pierde el encanto, aunque le hubiera quedado mejor un poco de brillo propio!:)

hey Nick,
this picture has a good good depth, and the details are just great- droplets, petals and their colour shifting from green to reddish and vicaversa, then the background is well observed for making a contrast just as needed. you know i mostly bark about composition, so here i would only point out that if you were to just give another centimeter space in the upper part then we would have a little more of one of the twisted lip of the petal- as it touches the edge- but the lower part is fine for me. however, the depth, as i mention, is wonderful!
cheers, v.

Just take time with the comments, Gustavo! We all have so much to do - unfortunately! ;-)
The big problem here was how to take some more details of the darker regions and still keep the water droplets. I made a compromise giving more weight to the droplets, but this made the rest of it rather dark I guess. I should retry it perhaps with some exposure correction... well, let's see.
Many thanks and all the best,
Nick

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Dave!
It's been exactly the droplets that made me decide to go for some underexposure, since with more exposure they would be devastated by the strong reflection.
Cheers,
Nick

Esta no me gusta tanto, se ve seca y mustia, eso sí, la técnica fotográfica inobjetable...
Luego te respondo tus comentarios, porque me cuesta siempre un poco entenderlos y tengo que leerlos con detenimiento.
Un abrazo!

An interesting composition here, Nick, and I really like the water droplets. Dave.
