Well, personally I, think this is a great shot, mainly for composition and I thought the lighting was definately OK as you wouldn't want to distract from the Subject !

Good one Michele, I like the colors here and how the objects looks like into the black 'ground', as about space... that reminds me a movie that some small rocks like seeds fall to the Earth and when people touch these they hit them and then the people transformed to ....aliens! :-)

Don't be discouraged Michele, your shots are great. But one of the reasons we are on here is to get even better, so I offer my subtle suggestions where I think they might make some slight improvements, not because there is anything fundamentally wrong with the image.
But I agree with your approach, sometimes the best solution is to just keep shooting until you find that one great shot that gives you the motivation to create some more. If you feel you are in a slump, then shoot your way out of it. Back to the point that you are once again viewing your great images in as much appreciation as the rest of us do every time you post them.

I must admit I do agree about the lighting - I am in a slump lately and must have taken at least 20 shots of this - can you believe it :(
