Hi Dave,
Thanks for the comments.
I was using the snow blower to clear a path and suddenly noticed the bird right in my path. She stayed there while I went and got my camera. Then she hopped up into an apple tree and started feed on the buds. She let me get very close. In fact, I had to step back to the whole bird in the frame. Not my usual experience with these birds. They are usually fairly skittish.
