first off, welcome back! long time no post. this shot was taken at an airshow at mcas miramar near san diego, ca. i had a spot not too far off the active runway and this hornet made a low-level high speed pass then pulled up. most of the other plane pics were taken at the same airshow.

That sounds plausible. I shot the Blue Angels Homecoming show at the Pensacola Naval Airbase last Nov. Here's one of an F-16 from that show.

i dont know for sure, but there was a lot of moisture in the air due to rain showers earlier that morning so i guess when the jet compressed the air to make the vapor the light went through it kind like a rainbow.
