In 2001 I was in Stratford, England and came upon a place that did rubbings. "Brass Rubbings" is what the sign proclaimed. On the backside (pun to come intended) of the building some wag rubbed out the "Br" and it read, "ass Rubbings." I was all for it. No paper or pencil needed.
