Thank you so very much, Elias. This afternoon while watching my hockey team lose again, I tried what you said re eliminating the white section. I appreciate your help. This is something I did not know how to do before.

Mary...expand your horizon...about the white edge between the sky and the building or mountains...
1.- Step back in time with the History palette.Make the selection again but this time make the selection marginally bigger with Selection>Modify>Expand.
2.-Choose the minimun setting...( 1 pixels )
3.-Paste into again and this time there is no white edge.Save the file..

my best for you.

Hi again, Elias. I had a few minutes to try out your directions for changing the sky. It worked well, thnak you. The Paste Into command was one I had never used. It is always great to learn something new.
The only thing is the boundaries between the original and the pasted in--in a lot of instances, there was a white section between the two. Do you mind helping me a little more and explaining how to correct that? Thanks so mch. I really appreciate the time you have taken to write these instructions.

thank you MAry ..this building is an icon in downtown L.A...... the way to change a dreary sky for another...ORGANIZE THE DESKTOP..1.-open your file with the gray sky..2.-then open a second file with the nice Clouds..Go Window>Arrange>Tile....the two images automatically move side by side....STRONGER THAN PASTE..1.-ensure that the Cloud file is active, then Select>All. the marching ants should be running around the edge of the image. Then Edit>Copy.2.-Close the Cloud file without saving any changes.Make your first file active and with the Magic Wand set at the default tolerance of 32,click on the sky.The selection should folllow the outline of the dull sky.3.-Now the fun bit.Go Edit>Paste Into (not Paste )..the Clouds are pasted into the area withhin the marching ants.To get thisinto your head, think " Paste into the selection" or " Paste into the shape".Even better....pick the Move Tool and movethe clouds within the outlines of the sky....if you want to know about the boundary between the sky and your buildings or mountains..I will show next time...my best.

This building certrainly has some intriguing lines. I really like the way you have that smal patch of pink sky. It really adds to your image.
