Missing people? I spent two days trying desperately to avoid the mindless herds of tourists whose experience of Pompei consisted of ticking numbers of buildings they'd visited off in their guide books. Sheep.

Even so, by reversing the direction I was walking in as soon as I saw a pair of bermuda shorts, I had an amazing experience. It is my dream to be able to visit Pompei with absolutely no one else there... it would be so magical to do that.
