Thanks again, Nicole. Yes -- he was watching me; no doubt to make sure I did not approach too closely. When I bring food out to the bird feeders the birds come to me very closely. But if I point a camera too closely, they fly away.

Doyle -- Thanks for the comments. I am a bit frustrated with the lens but overall was happy with the outcome. I just can't bring myself to invest in better tele glass yet but that day may come after retirement. You can tell that this was handheld and after too much tea and coffee!

Thanks, Kerry. However, I am not happy with the results I get with the low-end Canon 300mm zoom. That will be the last tele I ever get without a stabilizer and I vow to buy better glass in the future... :) :)
