Hi Dave - yes it is relative, A scorpion sting is very painful and stays painful for a long time - 24hours or more, heavy swelling may occur and in the case of the highly venomous types (Bhutidae - small pinchers and a thick tail), high fever, vomiting, respiratory problems,stomach pain and cramps may occur - it is especially old people and young children who are vulnerable. Medical attention is needed as soon as possible. In severe cases, death does occur although very seldom.
